Absorbed dose to water determination for kilo-voltage X-rays using alanine/EPR dosimetry systems

Alanine's relative response to kilo-voltage X-rays, compared 60Co reference quality beam, was studied in this work, order determine correction factors be applied alanine's when irradiated with low medium energy X-rays (up 300 keV). The of Aerial's alanine dosimeters determined by three distinct methods: experimental measurements using and a calibrated PTW Farmer 30013 ion chamber, Monte Carlo simulations MCNPX code finally, analytical calculations based on weighting X-ray spectra NIST's published mass absorption coefficients. Two sets beam qualities, covering high voltages ranging from 50 kV up 280 kV, were used study the dependence dosimeter's response. Obtained results consistent within 2.1% (average standard deviation at k = 1).
